Championship Information

Entry Process 

All entries, including returned invitations, must be received by the Tournament Office staff by the entry deadline of 5:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time on Friday, May 21, 2010.  Entry fees must accompany submitted applications.  ABSOLUTELY NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Open Qualifier 

The Open Qualifier will be available to all contestants not accepted during the formal invitation/application process.  Contestants advancing through the Open Qualifier will be invited to compete in the Championship Proper.  

Format 

Six rounds of match play will determine the Champion. The defending Champion is exempt from qualifying and will take match play seed #1. The top 31-ranked, accepted invites will also be exempt from qualifying. Those players exempt from qualifying will take match play seeds 2 through 32 based on their ranking within the Championship field.  The remaining thirty-two seeds will be determined through 18 holes of medal play on June 29, to complete the 64-player match play field. All play will be on Pinehurst No.2.

Championship Registration 

Championship registration will take place on Monday, June 28, from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM. Registration will be located in the Fairway Room of the Pinehurst Member's Club. Each contestant MUST register in person. Please make every attempt to register prior to playing practice rounds.

**Failure to register without notification to the tournament office will result in disqualification from the Championship.**

Practice Rounds and Range Usage 

The official practice round for the Championship is Monday, June 28, on Pinehurst No. 2.  For practice round starting times, please contact the Pinehurst Starting Tower at 910-295-3186 or 1-800-795-4653 (choose option 6) on or after Wednesday, June 23, after 10:00 AM.  Indicate you are a North & South contestant.  A limited number of additional practice times will be available on the afternoon of Sunday, June 27, and can be booked at the same time as official practice rounds.  Practice rounds are for contestants only.  Practice balls will be complimentary prior to and following practice rounds and Championship rounds beginning Sunday, June 27, 2010.

Private Housing 

Private Housing is an option provided to all contestants to help reduce total tournament costs.  While private housing is not guaranteed, we expect to accommodate all players who submit their Private Housing Request Form by May 30th.  Priority will be given to exempt and invited contestants.  Following acceptance to the tournament, players will be matched up with host families based on the information provided on the form.

Club Storage

Club storage is available and complimentary for all contestants during the Championship.

Player Dinner

The players dinner is on Monday, June 28, at 7:00 PM in the Main Dining Room of the Pinehurst Member's Club.  ALL PLAYERS ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND.  Guest are welcome, and may purchase guest  tickets at player registration.  Please do not send money in advance for guest tickets. Business attire (coat, no tie) for men is requested for the player dinner.  Women should wear appropriate corresponding business attire.
