PINEHURST SELECTED FOR
2014 U.S. OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP

Dear Friends of
Pinehurst:
I hope you will join me in celebrating a grand
occasion: Pinehurst will host our national
championship, the U.S. Open, in 2014.
The United States Golf Association made the
announcement yesterday, placing Pinehurst on a
select list of return sites ideally suited for
its flagship event. We have made modern-day
history, as the only club since 1911 to host the
U.S. Open three times in 15 years. |

We are humbled by
this recognition, a special tribute to Pinehurst
No. 2 as it commemorates 100 years of great
golf. We are likewise committed to making 2014
the most outstanding championship in U.S. Open
history.
We look forward to seeing our friends at the
USGA again for the 2008 U.S. Amateur
Championship, just a breath away. It is the same
event that began our championship relationship
with the USGA five decades ago, underscoring our
dedication to the game’s most revered
traditions.
We thank the USGA for this great honor, and
greatly anticipate this next step in our
championship legacy. We hope you will join us in
celebrating this historic moment.
