Lucy Li, 11 years old, qualifies for U.S. Women’s Open at Pinehurst

What did you do today?

Lucy Li, at 11 years old, qualified Monday night for the 2014 U.S. Women’s Open at Pinehurst, shooting rounds of 74-68 at Half Moon Bay in a U.S. Women’s Open Sectional Qualifier. She will be the youngest competitor in U.S. Women’s Open history, a mark previously held by Morgan Pressel and then Lexi Thompson.

Last year, at 10, Li reached match play of the U.S. Women’s Amateur Publinx. She’s also already won at Augusta National.

Tuesday at Pinehurst, LPGA star and major champion Morgan Pressel reflected on her experience as a 13-year-old playing in the U.S. Women’s Open at Pine Needles in 2001, and offered Li plenty of advice:
