Who should you root for at the 114th North & South?

Who should you root for in the championship match of the 114th North & South Amateur?

Well, that’s not our place to say.

What we will point out is, well…Pinehurst can’t go wrong.

Both players are elite amateur champions. Cananda’s Corey Conners is the 7th-ranked amateur in the world, and is only going to move up. Michael Cromie is a Cary, N.C., native who’s also an All-American at Georgia, a golf powerhouse. He also won the 2007 North & South Junior.

Oh, and they both, well…they both GET Pinehurst.

Cary native Michael Cromie is an All-American from Georgia.

“I was born and raised in Cary, and I’ve lived in the same house all of my life, and so Pinehurst means a ton to me,” he said. “I understand the history and the significance of it. I just…I just love this place.”

Corey Conners is one of the top-ranked amateurs in the world.

And Conners:

“I love Pinehurst, and I love the courses here. The names on that trophy are legends of the game, so to have my name there would be pretty special. It’d be a great honor and pretty proud moment.”

Like we said, we can’t go wrong here.

Play well, gentlemen.
