Can we pay with a credit card?
Yes. Visa is the preferred card of Pinehurst, but American Express, MasterCard and Discover payments are accepted, as well as checks and money order payments made to Pinehurst, LLC.
When do applications become available?
Applications primarily become available 90 to 100 days prior to the event.
Can we fax in our application?
Yes. Because entries must be accompanied by payment, credit card payment is required with faxed applications. The Tournament Office fax number is 910 255 3343.
How is your Championship field selected?
We select our field based on the playing credentials each applicant provides us on their application. The committee then determines the strongest field possible from the information provided.
Is entry into the Championship on a first come first serve basis?
No. We begin to assess our applications after the application process closes. The last application in has just as much merit as does the first one.
What are the age requirements for the Senior and Junior Championships?
Age requirements for the Juniors are that they must be between the ages of 15 to 17 at the start of the Championship.
The requirements for the Seniors are as follows:
- Senior OPEN Division: 55+ years old
- SUPER Senior Division: 65+ years old
- Senior LADIES Division: 50+ years old
- SUPER Senior LADIES Division: 60+ years old
Can I pay upon arrival to the Championship?
No. In order for an application to be valid, payment must be submitted along with the application.
Is private housing offered during the Championship?
Yes, but only for the Men's and Women's Championships. Contestants interested in private housing should fill out a Private Housing Application through the Private Housing link on the appropriate Championshiop page. Private Housing applications may also be obtained by contacting the Private Housing committee via Email at PinehurstPrivateHousing@nc.rr.com
Are golf carts allowed during the Championship?
Golf carts are allowed for the Senior Championships ONLY. Men and Women must walk during Match Play and MUST take a caddie for the quarter final, semi-final and final rounds. Juniors are NOT allowed to ride in carts or take caddies.
Are spectator carts permitted during the Championship?
No. Spectator carts are not allowed during the Championship. A disability committee is available during the Men's and the Women's Championships to assist any handicapped spectators.
Do we have to register for the Championship during registration hours?
Yes, we require that ALL contestants register in person for the Championship during the designated time. This allows the Tournament Committee a chance to fill a vacant spot with an alternate.
