Entry Process
All entries, including returned invitations, must be received by the entry deadline of 5:00p.m. EDT on Friday, May 23, 2008.  For those applying for entry into the Championship Proper Rounds or the Local Qualifying Rounds, the appropriate application must be completely executed and submitted by mail prior to the deadline.  Entry fees must accompany submitted applications.  Local Qualifying is available to North and South Carolina residents ONLY.

Local Qualifying
Local qualifying will be held at the Centennial Pinehurst No. 8, Tuesday, June 10th.  Local qualifying is required for North and South Carolina residents that are otherwise not exempt to compete.  For detailed exemption criteria, please click HERE.  For those applying for Local Qualilfying, please submit only the Local Qualifying Application.  Contestants advancing through qualifying will be invited to compete in the Championship Proper Rounds.  

Format
Six rounds of match play will determine the Champion. The defending Champion is exempt from qualifying and assumes the 1st seed in match play. The remaining 63 match play seeds are determined by the 36-hole qualifier. Qualifying will take place on Pinehurst No. 2 and No. 4. The total number of players beginning qualifying will be no more than 156 contestants.

Championship Registration
Championship registration will take place on Sunday, June 29 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Registration will be located at the Main Clubhouse in the St Andrews Room. Each contestant MUST register in person. No registration will be accepted by phone. Please make every attempt to register prior to playing practice rounds. Failure to register will result in disqualification from the Championship.

Practice Rounds and Range Usage
The official practice round for the Championship is Sunday, June 29 on either Pinehurst No. 2 or No. 4.  For practice round starting times, please contact the Pinehurst Starting Tower at 910-295-3186 or 1-800-795-4653, option 6 on or after Tuesday, June 24 after 10:00 a.m.  Indicate you are a North & South contestant.  A limited number of additional practice times will be available on Saturday, June 28.  Practice rounds on Saturday, June 28, will be on a first-come first-serve basis.  Contestants wishing to take advantage of these rounds will need to check in at the appropriate starting house at 4:00 p.m.  Practice rounds are for contestants only.  Practice balls will be complimentary prior to and following practice rounds and Championship rounds beginning Sunday, June 29.

Private Housing
Private Housing will be available to a limited number of contestants.  Priority will be given to exempt and invited contestants.  If space remains, additional housing requests will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.  Private Housing requests should be submitted by email following the close of entries.  Private Housing is not guaranteed.

Club Storage
Club storage is available and complimentary for all contestants during the Championship.
