Eligibility
For 2011, eligibility is through invitation only. The 109th Championships will see a unique change from years past. This year along with the grand re-opening of the championship venue, Pinehurst No. 2, the championships will be a 64 player match play invitational. The field will consist of only players invited to compete based on meeting invitation criteria. These 64 players will be exposed to a one of a kind more personalized experience. The committee reserves the right to invite amateurs of national and international reputation to participate. All applicants must conform to the "USGA Rules of Amateur Status".
Conditions
Field: Six rounds of match play will determine the Champion. The defending Champion will be given the #1 seed and the tournament committee will select and rank the 63 remaining players to complete the 64 player field
Rules for Play: All rounds shall be played in accordance with the "USGA Rules of Golf" and the Local Rules as defined by the North & South Championship Committee. Unbecoming conduct by a player may result in disqualification.
Carts/Caddies: Contestants have the option to take a caddie or carry their bag. Caddies are available by calling the Caddie Master at 910-235-8149. Caddie fees are $50.00 per round plus gratuity. Contestants who have family or friends that can provide ADA documentation will be provided their own volunteer cart driver during the championship. Friday and Saturday of championship week spectator carts will be permitted at a cost of $34.00.
