One of the best-known cultural symbols of Argentina, the gaucho is a rough, tough, free-riding horseman of the pampa and proud cousin of the North American cowboy. A prominent cattle-producing region, the pampa boasts vast, open pastures managed by modern-day gauchos who produce some of the best grass-fed beef in the world.
