Heather Paxton started her Pinehurst career as a front desk receptionist at The Spa at Pinehurst, but she always had her eye on the work behind the scenes.
After completing her training at Sandhills Community College, she joined The Spa’s team of estheticians. Now, a mere 8 years later, she’s the lead esthetician and one of just six spa professionals in North America chosen to participate in the BABOR Academy of Professional Esthetics Certification Program.
“During her time at The Spa at Pinehurst, Heather has consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic and a dedication to success,” said Spa Director Branden Fein. “Her efforts have produced high quality results time and time again.
“I congratulate Heather on this momentous achievement and am honored she is a part of the Spa at Pinehurst’s world-class team.”
Paxton has been chipping away at the program since February, taking online courses and participating in webinars. She recently traveled to BABOR Academy in Delray Beach, Florida to complete the final stage of her training.
During the three-day hands-on training, Paxton was evaluated on a wide range of techniques including everything from proper draping to product application. After receiving her certification, she’s now a Master BABOR Trainer. She’ll take the skills she learned and share them with her fellow estheticians.
“My goal is to get everyone on the same page to make sure we’re providing consistently great service,” she said.
Paxton’s peers already sought her out for advice and support, but Fein said her completion of the BABOR Academy has made her an even more confident, effective leader.
“She is an asset beyond measure to The Spa and the Resort as a whole,” said Spa Supervisor Christopher Gregg. “Her recent accomplishments are a testament to how hard of a worker she is and how far she has come.”
Paxton said she’s honored to have been chosen to participate in such a prestigious program.
“I’m happy to work for such an exclusive resort that they chose me for this opportunity,” she said. “I’m very proud to represent Pinehurst and now BABOR.”
“I love what I do, I get up every day happy to go to work.”
