Homeland star and Emmy winner Damian Lewis visits Pinehurst on the day Season 2 of the Showtime thriller premieres.

So what did Damian Lewis, star of Showtime’s Homeland and winner of the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series do on the day Season 2 of Homeland premiered?

He played golf at Pinehurst.

“This is an incredible place,” Lewis said Sunday evening while watching the Ryder Cup at Pinehurst’s 91st Hole. “Just phenomenal. It couldn’t have been better.”

Lewis’ trip, with his father and godfather, comes just seven days after “Homeland” won six Emmys. He and his group played Pinehurst No. 8 on Saturday before tackling famed Pinehurst No. 2 on Sunday.
Lewis said fans of the Showtime drama, which also garnered Emmy nods for lead actress Claire Danes, as well as for casting, among others, can expect even more of a thrill ride for Season 2.
“There are going to be a lot of surprises,” Lewis said. “We’ll keep you on the edge of your seat.”
