With Thanksgiving less than a month away, it will be here faster than you can say “gobble, gobble.”

Now’s the perfect time to start nailing down your plans for the holiday vacation.

We put together a list of the top five “can’t miss” activities to add to your Thanksgiving bucket list.

5. Write a letter to Santa

Friday, Nov. 28, 10-10:30 a.m., South Room

All children need to bring is their creativity, we’ll handle the rest. They’ll have a blast drafting their own correspondence to old Saint Nick with new friends by their side. We will provide paper, crayons, markers and glitter to help make their letters stand out. During the event, Mrs. Claus will make a visit to personally deliver the letters to Santa.

4.  Take a family wagon ride
through Pinehurst

Saturday, Nov. 29, 2 p.m., Carolina Hotel lobby

Soak in the history and the charm of the Pinehurst with a wagon tour of the area. It’s a great way to slow down and really enjoy the unique spirit of the Village.

3. Get in the holiday spirit with
Trim the Tree Pursuit

Our spin on Trivial Pursuit involves the entire family in a scavenger hunt. Get in the holiday spirit by tracking down clues that lead to our themed Christmas trees.

2. Enjoy the sounds of the season

The Carolina Philharmonic will kick off the holiday season with a musical retelling of “The Night Before Christmas.” Come celebrate the season with pops music that’s sure to leave you feeling festive.

Both hotel guests and local residents are invited to attend.

1. Fill up on a feast

Thursday, Nov. 27, 11:30-3 p.m., Carolina Dining Room

The Carolina Dining Room will offer an overflowing brunch buffet on Thanksgiving Day. Come hungry, there will be a plethora of options available to suit any taste.

Classic fare like butter-basted Tom turkey Breast, black pepper giblet gravy, toasted pecan stuffing, chive-fontina spiked mashed potatoes and cranberry-orange relish is on the menu.

The buffet also will feature herb roasted chicken breast, scaloppini of Atlantic salmon, baby sweet potato bakers and chorizo cornbread as well as an iced seafood display with poached shrimp cocktail and oysters on the half shell.

Be sure to leave room for dessert. You’ll have more than a dozen options including pumpkin and pecan pie, pumpkin praline cheesecake, lemon-cherry silk tart, white chocolate, almond sponge cake and seasonal macaroons.

Kids can customize their treats with a trip to the chocolate fountain or caramel apple station. That’s right, a caramel apple station. Dip local apples in a variety of infused caramels and top with toasted seeds and candied nuts. YUM!
