The 2nd U.S. Adaptive Open Championship at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club’s Course No. 6 will now be contested July 10-12, 2023. The championship was previously scheduled to take place July 17-19.

“This modification will allow us to showcase the incredible athletes who compete for this national championship with our broadcast partner in an enhanced way,” said Chief Championship Officer John Bodenhamer. “The original dates would have meant a decrease in television coverage, but the new dates provide the opportunity to expand and elevate the storytelling and build on the incredible momentum we saw in the championship’s inaugural playing.”

The championship will once again be held at Pinehurst No. 6, which hosted the inaugural playing in 2022. Simon Lee, 25, of the Republic of Korea, who has autism, defeated Felix Norrman, of Sweden, in a playoff to win the men’s division, while Kim Moore, 41, the women’s golf coach at Western Michigan University who was born without a right foot and with a severely clubbed left foot, captured the women’s division.

Entries for this year’s championship open Feb. 27 at usga.org.
