A GEM IN THE VILLAGE

The historic Holly Inn offers four unique meeting spaces that hearken back to Pinehurst’s roots as a genteel retreat. Most rooms have their own antique fireplace for decoration yet are equipped with all modern amenities. Part Queen Ann Revival, part Arts and Crafts, the Holly was designed to reflect its natural surroundings. Everything, from floral motif carvings, to stenciled ceilings, art glass fixtures and decorative tile – was selected to evoke the natural world and create an air of relaxed elegance.

Meeting spaces include the Evergreen Music Room, its walnut covered walls inscribed with quotes by Thoreau. The charming Magnolia and Gardenia rooms are perfect for small meetings, and the Holly Pool is ideal for an outdoor reception.

“When the Holly first opened its doors in 1895, it was advertised as having all the modern conveniences such as steam heat, electric lights and a call-bell in each room. Guests arriving on the Seaboard Railroad were even greeted with electric cars. It was the cultural center of Pinehurst.”
