Village of Pinehurst

While most think of Pinehurst as an iconic golf destination, The Village of Pinehurst actually preceded the first golf course in Pinehurst.

The Cradle Short Course

Nearly 120 years after golf arrived here, we present The Cradle, a nine-hole short course that even the newest to the game can enjoy. Designed by golf architect Gil Hanse, The Cradle features holes ranging from 56 to 127 yards.

Lawn Sports

The classic games of croquet and lawn bowling are alive and vibrant lawn sports at Pinehurst.  Two croquet courts and one lawn bowling green are open to resort guests for these fun, competitive but low-key activities.

Thistle Dhu Putting Course

When you visit Pinehurst, make sure and check out our 18-hole putting course, Thistle Dhu, located in front of the main clubhouse by the Putter Boy statue.

The Tufts Archives

Located within The Given Library, across from The Holly Inn, is the Tufts Archives, which displays the rich heritage and history of Pinehurst.


Browse through the many golf and gift shops on property and stroll through the quaint shops of the Village where you’ll find an endless assortment of clothing, antiques, pottery and more.

Carriage Rides

Explore the historic homes and charming streets of the Village of Pinehurst in the comfort of a horse-drawn carriage. Frederick Law Olmsted, who designed Central Park, created the Village to mirror a New England-style village


Go for a swim or lounge by the pool at the Carolina Hotel and Holly Inn.

Fitness Center

Complimentary to all Resort guests 16 years and older, the Pinehurst Fitness Center located at The Spa at Pinehurst is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and features new state-of-the-art equipment.


Kids have boundless energy and creativity. The Pinehurst KidsClub is designed to take advantage of both with indoor games, art projects and activities at both Lake Pinehurst and the Carolina Hotel pool.
