8 Things To Love About The New Centennial Cottage
By Alex Podlogar
Over the last two years, Pinehurst Resort has worked to elevate all aspects of the guests’ experience, including off the golf courses. That has led to dramatic renovations to The Carolina Hotel, its lobby and its rooms.
It’s also led to the Cottages at Pinehurst No. 8, new luxury accommodations that offer the first on-course views for those staying at Pinehurst.
And the centerpiece of the Cottages at No. 8 is the new Centennial Cottage, a 14,000-square foot, 8-bedroom experience that might be the best property anywhere at the Resort. Here are 8 things – feels like the right number – that make the Centennial so unique.
The Cottages at No. 8
1 . You’re at Pinehurst No. 8
During your stay you have the opportunity for twilight golf on No. 8. You also have a dedicated No. 8 Ambassador to assist you with anything you need. Golf carts at the ready. Pl8te, the restaurant in the No. 8 clubhouse, offers great southern American fare, scenic views of the 16th and 18th holes of No. 8, a huge patio and a great bar. No. 8 is known for its tranquil, natural setting. You feel all of that here.

2. It’s Big
The Centennial is beyond spacious. With eight bedrooms and eleven bathrooms, a group of up to 16 can reside comfortably. Sounds like the buddy trip of a lifetime.
3. Fire Away
A private fire pit with seating for 16 sits on the back of the Cottage with views of the golf course.
4. Golf doesn’t have to end
Whether you got 36 holes at Pinehurst in that day, whether you need a few swings to warm up or wind down into the night, a golf simulator is located on the lower level of The Centennial.
5. Turn on the TV
And not just any TV. A 100-inch screen in a home theater. Think March Madness would be fun in The Centennial? The Super Bowl? The Masters?
6. Meals at “Home”
No cooking. No dishes. Just the restaurant experience, with private chef-prepared dinners delivered right to your cottage.
7. Life is easy
There’s a wide upstairs balcony, and that large patio and porch with the fire pit on the lower level. There’s also a wet bar with small refrigerator, ice and water dispenser, microwave and dishwasher. There’s a card table and a billiard table. That No. 8 Ambassador is on-call. There’s never been anything like this at Pinehurst, which reminds us…
8. You’re at Pinehurst
If you’re staying in The Centennial, you likely have some rotation of No. 2, No. 10, No. 8, No. 4, The Cradle or any others on your itinerary. You’ve probably eaten at Pinehurst Brewing Co., the Deuce, or had a drink at the North & South Bar.
And you’ve just stayed in the best accommodations at the Resort. At least until Pinehurst Sandmines is completed…
