Pinehurst No. 11 winds across ground once shaped by mining operations from the 1930s through the 1950s. Spoil piles and man-made features, softened by decades of growth, remain woven into the course rather than erased.

50 Years in the Making
Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw have visited Pinehurst since the 1970s. Their 2011 restoration of Pinehurst No. 2 revived Donald Ross's sandscapes and wiregrass, and helped set the stage for the 2014 U.S. Open and U.S. Women's Open double. No. 11 marks their first original design at the resort.
