Frequently Asked Questions

Health & Safety

Is the resort following any health guidelines?

Pinehurst is dedicated to providing our guests a safe and enjoyable stay and we continue to diligently follow all of the guidelines put forth by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO) and the state of North Carolina.

Fully vaccinated persons are not required to wear masks or social distance indoors or outdoors in gatherings large or small. Additionally, all capacity restrictions and social distancing requirements have been lifted for restaurants, bars, and meeting spaces in hotels.

Per CDC guidance, in general, people are considered fully vaccinated:

  • 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or
  • 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine

Per CDC guidance, we strongly recommend that individuals who choose not to vaccinate should continue to wear masks and practice safe physical distancing while indoors and utilizing shuttles and trolleys.

All guest rooms will be thoroughly cleaned before being available for the next guest. All disinfectants used at Pinehurst Resort are registered with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and meet the criteria for use against emerging viral pathogens & SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

We’ve enhanced the air quality around the resort with Needle-Point Bi-Polar Ionization HVAC filtration technology.

We’ve increased the presence of hand-sanitizing stations throughout the resort – in the hotel, at golf courses and clubhouses, in our restaurants and stores, and all other areas. Additionally, our guests will receive personal hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes to use throughout their stay.

All phones, refrigerators, handrails, cash machines, restrooms, TV remotes, common areas and flat surfaces throughout the resort are being cleaned numerous times every day.

Our on-property and airports shuttles are available and will undergo regular cleaning numerous times a day.

We are not accepting cash at our point of sale outlets at this time.

However, should you need cash for caddie tips or other gratuities, ATMs can be found at the main Clubhouse and at the Carolina Hotel.

Golf carts and push carts are disinfected after every use.

We feel like the best way to experience golf at Pinehurst is through your feet. If possible, please consider walking instead of using a cart. Push carts are available at every course on a first come, first serve basis.

Caddies are available with a slightly different looping experience.

Ball washers are placed on every third hole.

Our restaurants, bars and meeting spaces have been approved to 100% capacity, though some dining outlets may have limited hours and menus based on staffing. Please allow more time for dining during peak hours. To view dining availability and browse menus, please click here.

Grab and Go breakfast options are available at select outlets and in-room dining options are available for guests at the Carolina Hotel and the Holly Inn.

The Spa is only offering 50-minute services at this time and appointments will be spaced to allow time for treatment rooms to be thoroughly cleaned between services.

Currently, food service and O2 Chairs are not available.

All appointments will need be paid for by credit card or charged to the guests room or member account.

Guests will receive a pre-arrival text message with resort information and will be able to communicate directly with someone at the resort. We ask that each guest provide an estimated arrival time for better service in the lobby and public areas.

Check out time has been adjusted to 11 a.m. for additional cleaning of each room.

Complimentary bicycles and TownieGo E-bikes are available and will be sanitized according to CDC guidelines before and after each use.

Tennis and lawn sports will be available at the Clubhouse with social distancing recommendations. All equipment will be sanitized according to CDC guidelines before and after each use. Guests are encouraged to bring their own equipment and must provide their own water, as community water dispensers will not be available.

While using CDC recommendations and state and local guidelines to accommodate events, Pinehurst Resort’s 80,000 square feet of indoor meeting space provides the flexibility to accommodate your event in a safe and innovative way while gathering restrictions may be in place.

  • We will provide hand sanitizer containing at least 70% alcohol at the entrance and other areas.
  • Sanitized pens and unused note pads will be provided for each attendee.
  • Tables with linen will be changed after each function daily. Linen-less meeting room tables and banquet chairs will be sanitized between daily meeting/set ups.
  • High-touch areas such as door handles and handrails will be sanitized multiple times each day, and between all functions.
  • Our staff will wash or sanitize hands between each course served.
  • All bar service will be cashless. Bars will use a fresh glass/cup for every drink.
