What to Expect Ahead of the U.S. Open
Can I stay at the Resort during the U.S. Open?
No. Pinehurst Resort accommodations are fully booked from June 9 – 16, 2024. Tee time availability is limited between May 28 – June 20, 2024.
Will there be a modified golf experience in the weeks before and after the championship?
Yes. Guests can expect changes around the main resort clubhouse, based on the schedule below. (Subject to change):
September 5, 2023: Courses 1-5 short game area will be modified to hitting off mats only
December 4, 2023-February 29, 2024: Pinehurst No. 2 will have several fairway zones that require a fairway hitting mat. Mats will be provided at each zone location and will also be required on all par 3 tees to help preserve course conditions during the winter months.
January 8 & 9, 2024: Maniac Hill – Member & Academy Range CLOSED to Install Temporary Range Net; Teaching Academy Relocated to Course No. 8
January 10, 2024: Driving Range at Maniac Hill Available for Warm-up Hitting into Net
April 1, 2024: Course No. 1 – 16 Hole Modified Layout; Chipping Area/Putting Green/Thistle Dhu Setup will be Modified
April 25, 2024: Tennis Courts 3-6 CLOSED
May 6, 2024: Course No. 4 – Hole 1 – Shortened for Construction of Members Only Tent/Pavilion
May 13, 2024: Tennis Courts 7-10 Closed & Croquet Courts CLOSED
May 20, 2024: Courses No. 1 & No. 4 CLOSED
May 28, 2024: Course 2, Locker Room Facilities, Padgett Center, & Pinehurst Tennis Facility & Courts 1 & 2 CLOSED
June 3, 2024: The Cradle, Golf Shop, Members Club, Swimming Pools, Padgett Center & Resort Clubhouse CLOSED
Courses No. 3 & No. 5 remain open during the Championship for members and Resort guests only, and have NO impact during construction.
June 20, 2024: Main Golf Shop, 91st Hole, lawn bowling courts, and Course 2 reopen
June 21, 2024: The Deuce reopens
June 24, 2024: Tennis Building & Courts 1 & 2 reopen
June 24, 2024: Course 1 reopens with a modified 16-hole layout until July 31, Tennis Building & Courts 1-2 reopen
June 28, 2024: Courses 4 reopens with a modified 1st hole until July 1
June 29, 2024: The Cradle reopens
July 1, 2024: Tennis Courts 7-10 reopen
July 15, 2024: Tennis Courts 3-6 reopen
July 8, 2024: Driving Range at Maniac Hill reopens with nets until the end of May 2025 for renovation
September, 2024: Croquet Courts reopen

Will the Spa be open during the Championship?
The Spa will be open and operate as usual, though hours may vary.
Will Resort dining outlets be open?
Dining outlets at The Carolina Hotel, Holly Inn and The Manor will be operating as usual, though hours may vary. Pinehurst Brewing Company and Villaggio Ristorante will operate as usual. The Deuce and 91st Hole will be closed beginning June 3.
