Introduced to the Pinehurst community in 2012, Pickleball was invented in the early 1960’s and is currently the fastest growing sport in the U.S., with over 100,000 players nationwide.  It’s an activity that combines the liveliness of tennis with the quick reflexes required for Table Tennis on a badminton-size court. The Pinehurst Pickleball courts are located in the Pinehurst No.6. complex next to the main clubhouse.

Never played before?  No problem!  We’ll be happy to arrange a lesson for you. We provide the equipment for you to borrow at no extra charge.

To schedule instruction or check court availability contact our Pickleball Head Pro, Aimee Bonnell, at aimee.bonnell@pinehurst.com.

Pickleball Meet the Pros

Aimee Bonnell, Head Pickleball Professional

Aimee is returning to Pinehurst from East Lake Woodlands in Oldsmar Florida where she was the recent Director of Racquet Sports.  She managed active tennis and pickleball programs there and grew them in a short term.  Aimee is familiar with Pinehurst as the former Head Tennis Professional at No. 9 tennis for eight years.  She helped grow the tennis and pickleball program while she was here, but is excited to come back with her main focus on Pickleball and managing the soon to be twelve new courts slated for completion in May.

Her goals will be adding activities, instruction, tournaments, and resort exposure.   She will also be managing a Full time Pickleball Assistant in day to day operations.  Aimee is a PPR, (Professional Pickleball Registry) certified professional.  Her husband, Rolf, sons, Peter (9) and Alex (7) all enjoy pickleball and tennis too!  Please join us in welcoming her back to our TLCP team!
