With more than 200 craft breweries in the state – the most in the South – local beer is an essential part of the any North Carolina visitor’s experience. Our area boasts two award-winning breweries, both owned by military veterans. The Brewmaster’s Tour leads guests through the complete brewing process, allowing for a unique behind-the-scenes look at the operation of two local craft breweries.
Southern Pines Brewing Company
Founded by three former Green Berets stationed at nearby Fort Bragg, Southern Pines Brewing Company has quickly become a local favorite. The brewery currently self-distributes its beer exclusively in central North Carolina, and beyond the flagship beers that can be found in retail stores, they brew innovative artisanal batches of beer on a regular basis.
Owned by veterans of three branches of the military, the founders of Railhouse Brewery are as dedicated to making great beer as they were to serving our country. With beer distributed in the Carolinas, Georgia and South Korea, Railhouse’s spacious taproom provides a great spot to grab a bite to eat and enjoy tasty and ever-changing, experimental small batch brews.
